The new partnership between the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and Opposition “social news network” Rappler inked by COMELEC spokesman James Jimenez is a disturbing development. Rappler and its CEO Nobel “Peace Prize” laureate Maria Ressa are known beneficiaries of funding provided by the Omidyar Network (headed by eBay co-founder Pierre Omidyar) and the United States’ Congress-funded National Endowment for Democracy (NED) which reportedly has ties with the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
