National elections in the Philippines are finally modernising. The idea that such an important democratic exercise can be reduced to a “good” versus “evil” contest has proven to be ineffective as revealed by surveys conducted over the last couple of years. Political camps propagating that obsolete notion are paying the price for their insulting assumption that Filipinos will continue to lap up their medieval narratives.
