There has got to be something better than disaster and misery porn to fill the campaign collateral being pumped by politicians into the Net this campaign season. Indeed, even while Big Corporate Media obediently lap up the victimhood appeals of the intellectually-bankrupt campaigns of presidential candidates Leni Robredo and boxing champ Manny Pacquiao, and pipe them into the screens of their merely-bemused audience, Christmas approaches and people are generally in the mood to party. Who gives a shit about a bunch of typhoon “victims”, right?
