Lugaw is not enough motivation for Filipinos to embrace “Mama Leni”
One thing that could be observed over the two-odd years of pandemic-induced restrictions in the Philippines is that Filipinos have generally been tolerant of the impact these have had on their personal freedoms. No big riots have erupted in much the same way these have in other countries. This seems to indicate that no acute signs of weariness over lockdowns and limited mobility is evident in Philippine society. It would seem that Filipinos are perfectly comfortable being the sheep many have suspected them to be — perfectly comfortable being herded and delegating their thinking to that herd mentality.
