In review and in prospect
With Senator Bato dela Rosa keeping the seat warm for Inday Sara “Daughterte” (in case she changes her mind about running for president) and next top guy in the popularity polls Bongbong Marcos who is seen by admin camp supporters to be an acceptable alternative to Daughterte, the Opposition really ought to start taking the 2022 elections seriously.
Instead, the Opposition are mired in a monumental catfight between the presumed “leading” Yellowtard bloc headed by Vice President Leni Robredo and the communist Makabayan bloc that includes senatorial bet Neri Colmenares.
In hindsight, this comes as no surprise considering that the communists are ideologically incapable of compromising their singular objective to overthrow any democratically-elected government. Violently if necessary. The tiff we are seeing today is really just a preview of how these dishonest Reds will eventually behave in the unlikely scenario that the Yellowtards (or any camp for that matter) are in power after 2022. For the commies, whoever will be in power mid next year will just be the next “US-[insert name of new president here] Imperialist Dictatorship”.

Hope for a “united” Opposition collapses amid bickering between commies and Yellowtards

"Can you imagine what would happen if they actually win? Not to belabor the issue, Leni Robredo can’t even lead. So what’s the point? And frankly, with a platform that is 'block Marcos and oust Duterte' in the midst of a pandemic, would voters even think about voting for them...?"

"The Opposition would rather make the election about personalities; Marcos, Duterte and the usual narrative of authoritarianism, populism and damaged institutions. This is the liberals and the leftists making a mountain out of a molehill of irrelevant issues."
Iron fists and visionary leadership will continue to sell well in Philippine elections

"Majority of Filipinos want the same Duterte-type brand of rule in the country this coming 2022, no matter how much the West and the Nobel Peace Prize committee want to portray any tinge of authoritarianism in the country as 'evil'."
Is “voting wisely” even an option?

"Even though the Information Age transformed how elections and politics are played, it doesn’t change the notion that the Philippine electoral system is bound to degrade with time, where there is premeditated degeneration brought by the frailties and flaws of the 1987 Constitution."

"The Anti-Terror Bill has become more essential in light of the Taliban regaining control of Afghanistan after the US’s hasty pullout. Terrorist groups again have access to a safe haven from which they could operate from and plan attacks in the future."

"The 1987 Constitution’s inherent defect allows the election of a plurality President where the losers will always say that the winner didn’t obtain a clear majority. The Yellows and Reds are basically sore losers."

Marcos Derangement Syndrome Overdrive

"Now that the son of whom the Yellows consider to be the Pinoy version of Hitler, is leading in the polls, Rappler seems to be going on overdrive in discrediting anything and everything positive being attributed to Bongbong Marcos (BBM)."

"Never mind that Duterte is a duly-elected President of the Republic and never mind that Maria Ressa’s opinion isn’t shared by the greater majority of Filipinos. Never mind that Maria Ressa herself, is not a bonafide Filipino citizen."

"The image created is there is suppression of freedom of the press in the country when, in truth, there is none. All publications are free to print what they please."

"It is common insider knowledge in the industry that many seasoned journalists and members of management teams in established news media organisations in the Philippines regard Maria Ressa with silent contempt."

"Maria Ressa isn’t even a Filipino citizen to begin with. In fact, she is a foreign agent operating in the country and openly challenging the government. Condoning this act is treason."
