Dear GRP Insiders,
Evidence that Filipinos have finally matured as key participants in their democracy was on exhibit last week and will likely be sustained over the following months leading to May 2022.
Old habits die hard, of course, and the spectacle of an Opposition trying hard to score points with the youth and those so-called “millennials” elicited a big national cringe last week. Obsolete rhetoric and lame attempts to re-brand fell flat.
Continue to stay tuned!

In review and in prospect
The Opposition were desperately flailing this week as infighting wracked their ranks. They lashed out at Bongbong Marcos and the Marcos legacy, Samira Gutoc who had joined Isko Moreno's camp, and, recently, at a survey that showed Marcos enjoying a 49 percent preference vote for the presidency. All this despite having all but convinced themselves that a nationwide Pink Motorcade in support of the Leni Robredo - Kiko Pangilinan tandem was a resounding success.
The Opposition led presumptively by Robredo's Yellowtard bloc are utterly bankrupt of any semblance of a value proposition to Filipino voters that goes beyond the tired old anti-Marcos drivel that is a mainstay in their script. Coming up with an intelligent platform will have made them competitive with the admin camp that they seek to thwart. Yet the incumbents are scoring points even without having to resort to the hollow-headed circuses of the Opposition.
A meeting between Marcos and Inday Sara Duterte has the Yellowtards on edge — worrying about something they are realising they are utterly powerless to influence. This week will be an interesting one. With a major stunt, last week's motorcade, already behind them, the Yellowtard-led Opposition will be hard-pressed to find new ways to counteract the publicity the outcome of this meeting between Marcos and Duterte will yield.

2022 elections a chance for Filipinos to remove communist vermin from public office
October 24, 2021 by Ramon Ortoll
"They are against the drug war and accuse the State of masterminding extra-judicial killings (EJKs) but refuse to hold the NPA to account for the murder of civililans, soldiers, and policemen in the insurgency."
Bongbong Marcos is likely to win in 2022. Will the US intervene to prevent that?
October 24, 2021 by benign0
"With their local agents — the Yellowtards, ABS-CBN, and Maria Ressa — all but botching the crush-Marcos-and-Duterte-at-ALL-costs project, America may be faced with the prospect of either (1) upping the covert intervention ante or (2) rolling up their sleeves and doing the job themselves."
Illusions and delusions will not win Leni Robredo and the #KakamPink mob the election
October 23, 2021 by Ramon Ortoll
"Why would Leni Robredo win? Magic? That’s not an option since Andy Bautista is in exile in San Francisco. Volunteerism? This is nothing more than bandwagoning."
POS Wants BBM To Eat (Pink) Cake
October 23, 2021 by Hector Gamboa
"Why is there a need to even mention that Bongbong Marcos failed his first attempt at the school’s preliminary exams? Should we then demand the Integrated Bar of the Philippines to make a statement that Leni Robredo is a Bar flunker?"
So This Is What A Smart Fight Is For “Pinklawans”!
October 22, 2021 by Hector Gamboa
"Rappler seems to believe that Leni is not capable of sealing the deal on her own merits and that she needs the help of the jaundiced mainstream media to artificially prop her up by smearing BBM."

"For Robredo, the message is clear: fire your campaign strategists. Clearly, Filipinos want a real leader they can follow to battle — not some lame mother figure, and certainly not a candidate campaigning using the colour pink."
October 22, 2021 by Ramon Ortoll
"The enabling law on political dynasties was never passed by Congress due to its vested interests and so the public is now stuck with what is deemed to be 'the best of the best' of recycled candidates who take a break after term limits are reached then make a comeback."
October 20, 2021 by benign0
"First is framing their entire campaign almost entirely within an opposition to some sort of 'evil' Marcos-Duterte Axis that is a product of their shrill paranoia. Second is a dependence on PR and marketing trickery..."
Senator, now presidential candidate, Bato dela Rosa kills it in interview with Karen Davila!
October 20, 2021 by benign0
"Bato also welcomes the ICC to observe the situation in the Philippines first hand. But to do any more than that, including presuming to rule on guilt or innocence of any person of interest — will be nothing short of a slap across the face..."

"MLQ3 and his ilk, Leni Robredo included, refuse to stop beating on a dead horse. They don’t seem to realize that they’re driving voters away instead of gaining them for their cause."
October 20, 2021 by Ramon Ortoll
"Chanco tries very hard to justify the Senate slate of Leni Robredo but fails. If the basis is the lesser evil then it should comes down to the NPC-Reporma-NUP-UNA coalition, some of whose candidates have been adopted by Robredo."
A return to post-1986 Yellowtard culture? Filipinos will have none of that and none of Leni Robredo
October 18, 2021 by benign0
"Filipinos don’t need a mother. They want a leader. They don’t want to some bozo asking them nicely that they allow her to lead them. They want to see a person exhibit some character, step up to the occasion and yell 'FOLLOW ME!' with conviction."
October 18, 2021 by Ramon Ortoll
"Robredo’s Spokesperson, Barry Gutierrez, clarified that the Office of the Vice-President (OVP) was aware of the initiative taken by the volunteers but that the funds raised would not go directly to the OVP."

Maria Ressa does not deserve the Philippine Senate “Medal of Excellence”
October 22, 2021 by Ramon Ortoll
"If the Duterte administration was truly tyrannical, dictatorial and authoritarian, Rappler would be shut down by now. But it is still operating and spewing propaganda against the administration."
Karen Davila and Bernadette Sembrano Aguinaldo in pink: BIASED “news” anchors?
October 19, 2021 by benign0
"ABS-CBN News anchor Karen Davila thinks she can simply plug what had become a highly politicised colour then insult the intelligence of her Filipino audience by claiming that 'Pink just looks good on TV'."

Duterte achieved a lot during his term which is why CONTINUITY post-2022 is very important
October 21, 2021 by Ramon Ortoll
"What Duterte has shown is that political will counts if you want to get things done. His single biggest achievement is in infrastructure development. The rehabilitation of the rail system will benefit commuters and entrepreneurs and will stimulate the economy."
