The rising cost of diesel fuel is putting pressure on the incomes of that all-too-familiar large bloc of voters in the Philippines — jeepney drivers. As such, the Opposition — particularly the communist bloc within it — are jumping at the opportunity to associate this problem with the administration of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte.
