Opposition campaigns harder
Desperation sets in with just a month of campaign time to go. With little promise of any further political innovation, Opposition camps point their guns back to an easy traditional target.
As the campaign period draws to a close, some insights have emerged on the dynamics that got the various partisan camps to the situations they are in now. The administration camp led by the Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte tandem enjoy an unprecedented lead as consistently reported by several reputable polling firms over the last three to six months. The Opposition, on the other hand, is a morass composed of several partisan blocs competing with one another for Second Place ensuring that no one of these blocs exhibit any hope of closing the gap enjoyed by the Marcos-Duterte tandem. Despite the leaders of the major Opposition blocs — Leni Robredo, Isko Moreno, Manny Pacquiao, and Ping Lacson — professing a common hate for Marcos, none had found it in themselves in the early days to back a united front against him led by one leader to assure them a consolidated vote against the formidable administration tandem and a better chance of posing a credible challenge to the administration.
