In review and in prospect
World conquest is necessarily a violent, misogynistic, and greedy business. The alternative would be an insular primitive world of people scared of their own shadow. This is why societies across the board all consistently put a premium on male offspring. It's because males -- strong ones -- are key to strong societies and clans and, per capita, contribute more to propagating DNA than females.
That's just the facts and not meant to offend. It's just the way things are. The preference and privilege males enjoy is not an accident but an evolutionary outcome. The world's strongest nations had strong male martial traditions. Those that channeled that predisposition to violence into technological innovation went on to dominate humanity. Males are the more violent gender because male disposition was almost wholly behind humanity's bloodlust for war.
So here's the point…
As much as we would like to believe that humans are "good" by nature, the fact is we are all wired to annihilate one another in an endless competition for resources and mates. The communities, tribes, societies, and nations humans formed were mere social tools to improve their competitiveness in that bloodsport. Every human alive today is the product of an entire line of individuals who competed and won in that bloodsport.
Understanding this confronting truth about human nature is key to coming up with real solutions to modern day's social problems. Decency (as defined by today's gentrified societies) is not an entitlement any more than "human rights" is a part of the natural order. An acceptance that humans and the nations they constitute will, left to their devices, behave a certain way is a core foundation of any effort to chart a roadmap to the future that takes into account foreseen challenges.
